Every year during the holidays, searches for food banks and food pantries increase on the Google’s search engine. Directing these inquiries to one of Feeding America’s food pantries is Google.org’s intention with the Food for All program. Feeding America is the largest network of food pantries in America.
At the center of this work is a website that helps those in need find the nearest food pantry to them. For those who want to help, resources and opportunities to give back are available on the site. We built a friendly suite of inclusive, approachable artwork that represents a community of support and serves as as a step by step guide to searching for a food pantry. The site is also educational, illustrating numbers that reflect the growing food crisis in America.
As part of the program, Google employees were able to volunteer across the country at their nearest food pantry. both/and, alongside our experiential partner Pinpoint Productions, designed the volunteer events. Our approach to designing this series was humble, putting the people at the center of the experience over branding.
